OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Early Wednesday morning, Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) crews responded an apartment fire at the Deer Run Apartments.

When crews arrived at the apartments located at 2840 NE Fourth Ct. around 3 a.m., they say the small, one-story building had flames coming from the back of an apartment.

OFR says the resident had already escaped from the apartment and told crews there were oxygen bottles inside. When crews entered the apartment, they say one of the bottles exploded causing them to have to retreat.

Firefighters repositioned and were able to contain the fire within ten minutes and contain the damage to the unit where the fire started, according to OFR.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
