PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – UPDATE, 2/26/2024, 7:16 p.m.: The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a trooper spotted the suspect vehicle matching one from an Amber Alert out of Palm Beach County.

FHP says the vehicle got onto northbound Interstate I-75 from State Road 91.

“With the help of a Sumter County Sheriff’s K-9 unit, the trooper conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle,” said FHP in a news release.

FHP says the trooper confirmed the man’s identity as the man wanted in the Amber Alert. They arrested 44-year-old Jean R. Simeus, of Macon, Georgia, on an out-of-county warrant for kidnapping.

They transported him to the Sumter County jail where he’s being held without bond.

Troopers say the 7-year-old child was not hurt and returned to his mother.

UPDATE, 2/25/2024, 8:14 p.m.: The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has cancelled the Amber Alert for a 7-year-old boy from Palm Beach County.

FDLE says Christian Simeus is safe.

ORIGINAL, 2/25/2024, 6:46 p.m.: An Amber Alert is in effect for seven-year-old Christian Simeus, last spotted in Riviera Beach, Florida. Christian is described as three feet, seven inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing a grey shirt, grey shorts, and red Spider-Man shoes.  Authorities believe he may be with Jean Simeus, described as five feet, eight inches tall, also with black hair and brown eyes.  They could be in a 2019 black BMW 440i Gran Coupe, Georgia tag TBZ4664, with tinted windows.  If you have any information, please call Riviera Beach Police at 561-845-4123 or dial 911.
