OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The College of Central Florida (CF) Patriots fell 7-4 to the Daytona State College Falcons at home Thursday afternoon.

CF jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when Dawson Harman crushed his 20th home run of the season, a two-run shot to left. Daytona responded quickly, plating three runs in the second. William Rollings drove in Casey Morgan with an RBI single, followed by run-scoring hits from Holden Bradshaw and Chase Wilson to give the Falcons a 3-2 lead.

The Patriots briefly reclaimed the lead in the sixth. Jacob McKenzie doubled and later scored on a bunt single by Anthony Diaz that was misplayed for an error. Miles Curley followed with an RBI single to make it 4-3 CF. But Daytona answered in the top of the seventh, capitalizing on two singles and a CF error to tie it 4-4. Ian DeVos put the Falcons ahead with an RBI single, and Rollings added a two-run double to seal the 7-4 win.

McKenzie and Marcus Bradshaw each had two hits and a double for the Patriots. Reliever Arturo Ormaza pitched two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out one.

CF drops to 31-14 (16-12), while Daytona improves to 13-26 (11-17).

The series concludes Saturday in Daytona.
