OCALA, FL (352Today.com) – A 32-year-old Ocklawaha man is dead after being struck by a pickup truck on State Road 25 early Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash happened at approximately 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2026, near SE 102nd Terrace in the Ocklawaha area.
According to an FHP announcement, a Ford pickup truck driven by a 43-year-old Ocklawaha man was traveling west on SR 25 when it struck a pedestrian walking in the westbound lane ahead of the truck. Troopers say the driver did not see the man in the roadway before the collision.
The pedestrian’s injuries were listed as fatal. The driver was not injured and was wearing a seat belt, according to FHP.
FHP worked the fatality with assistance from Marion County Fire Rescue and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Trooper V. Hatch was listed as the crash investigator, and Cpl. Wilson Swartz as the homicide investigator.
FHP has not released the names of either man. The patrol said next of kin have been notified.
The crash remains under investigation. The case number is FHP26ON0443523.
