CRYSTAL RIVER, FL (352today.com) – As daylight breaks, Citrus County is able to start assessing overnight damages from Hurricane Helene.

The county shares on its Facebook page that roadways are underwater including US Hwy. 19 at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave./NE 8th Ave. where airboat rescues are currently underway.

Citrus County Transit is already making its way through the county to assist those in need, shuttling flood evacuees to the emergency shelter, according to Citrus County.
