ORLANDO, FL (352Today.com) – Professional football has had a rocky history in Orlando.

From the World Football League’s Florida Blazers of the mid-’70s to the latest XFL flameout with the Renegades a couple of years ago, O-Town just hasn’t been able to catch a break–despite winning teams and coaches, great weather and being located in the middle of one of the most football-obsessed states in the nation.

The city is getting another shot next spring, however, with the United Football League‘s just-announced Orlando Storm. A new addition to the one-year-old organization’s eight-team league, the Storm will play its home games at Inter&Co Stadium when the UFL’s second season kicks off in March 2026. They’re one of three teams added to the league for the spring season, along with the Columbus Aviators and Louisville Kings.

The UFL is the result of a merger between the XFL, which filed for bankruptcy after the COVID shutdown killed its comeback momentum and was sold to new investors (including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), and another minor pro league, the United States Football League. The Storm’s inclusion in the UFL’s second season doesn’t constitute an expansion; rather, the three new teams will replace the Memphis Showboats, Michigan Panthers and San Antonio Brahmas.

A head coach for the Orlando Storm has not yet been announced. Nor has a game schedule for the upcoming season, though sports fans can already put down a deposit on season tickets, suites and group reservations via Ticketmaster.
