OCALA, FL. (352today) – Meet Georgia, the longest resident at Marion County Animal Services. Despite arriving a little more than a year ago as a stray, Georgia is as joyful as ever. She anxiously awaits a forever home and has added it to her Christmas wish list.

With a tail that never stops wagging and a playful spirit, it is hard to believe Georgia is 6 years old. When this pretty lady gets excited, she does not run, she hops. As she hops with enthusiasm, she recharges by lying on the floor belly side up before continuing to bounce to her heart’s content. Among Georgia’s endearing qualities, she believes she’s a lap dog, so the term “personal space” does not exist in her pup vocabulary. With a balanced combination of zoomies and asking for affection, there is no doubt that Georgia is 70 pounds of pure love.

For Georgia, an ideal home would be one filled with love and patient guidance. She may be a little on the anxious side, but with confident reassurance, she can thrive in any home. She can be selective with other dogs, and the MCAS staff recommend a meet and greet to ensure it’s the perfect fit.

With a home full of love, treats and a yard to hop in, all of Georgia’s wishlist will come true. She is more than ready to give hugs and cuddles for many years to come. Georgia is currently in a foster home and is available to greet guests when visiting Marion County Animal Services, located at 5701 SE 66th St., Ocala, or call at 352-671-8700.

For December, Marion County Services is having a “Name Your Price” event where participants can take Georgia home at an adoption fee of the participants’ choice. For updates on upcoming adoption events and how to adopt a new best friend, follow MCAS on Facebook.
