OCALA, FL (352today) – Meet Texan, a 9-pound pup with a heart the size of Texas, who’s currently available for adoption at the Humane Society of Marion County.
Texan is a 12-year-old Chihuahua mix who was surrendered to HSMC after the previous owner faced difficulties in keeping him. Although Texan is a senior, he still has his golden years ahead of him. He may be shy at first, but that changes after he receives a few pets. He is quick to shower with affection and curl up in a lap. His quiet spirit is made for strolls around the neighborhood and cozy naps.
Texan gets along with other small dogs, but the ideal home for him would be one without chaos. He is not toy- or treat-motivated as much as he is cuddle-motivated. All he needs is a safe, peaceful home where he can be a loyal friend and companion.
Since Texan is a senior, his adoption is sponsored. He is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and ready to go to his forever home just in time for Christmas. Guests can visit Texan when visiting the Humane Society of Marion County from Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., located at 701 NW 14th Road in Ocala.
