OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) arrested a man for viewing child pornography.
Authorities received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that pointed to an individual uploading files that depicted child sexual abuse material.
MCSO detectives say they traced the uploaded files to 5600 NE 167th Ave., Silver Springs, where 44-year-old William Dyess lives.
According to detectives, Dyess registered himself as a sex offender in 2000 after being charged with Lewd Acts Upon a Child in Orange County.

Authorities say Dyess was also on active felony probation for Violation of Sexual Offender Registration Requirements.
MCSO detectives executed a search warrant at Dyess’ home on April 10, 2025, collecting his electronic devices, including his cell phone, for forensic analysis.
Detectives reviewed the content on his electronic devices and determined that Dyess had viewed images containing child sexual abuse material of prepubescent and toddler-aged females.
Dyess’ search history uncovered searches for “young,” “teen,” and bestiality pornography.
Authorities say Dyess “confessed his attraction” to children after initially denying that there would be child pornography on his devices, and admitted to seeking out the material online.
Dyess was arrested on charges of Intentional Viewing of Child Pornography and Violation of Probation.
He has been transported to the Marion County Jail, where he is held without bond.
