CRYSTAL RIVER, FL (352today.com) – The 12th annual Hooked Up for Tata’s Saltwater Fishing Tournament–benefiting breast cancer awareness groups and those in the community suffering from the disease–isn’t until September, but free registration is now open for anglers wishing to participate.

Hooked Up for Tata’s is a one-day team/boat fishing tournament targeting multiple inshore and offshore species. After the Captains Meeting & Party at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, the fishing itself takes place Saturday, Sept. 12 up through the weigh-in at 4 p.m.
Targeted species:
- gag grouper
- amberjack
- redfish/red drum
- red snapper
- king mackerel/kingfish
- additional species based on current season/regulations
The tournament is headquartered at the Plantation on Crystal River, located at 9301 W. Fort Island Trail, Crystal River.
Hooked Up for Tata’s is also actively seeking sponsors, donors and table reservations for the Captain’s Meeting and Party–interested parties can find more information also at the link above.
If past competitions are any indication, the tournament expects to attract more than 150 boats and 500 anglers and attendees, as well as adding to the more than $100,000 the annual event has raised for breast cancer awareness and local fighters since its inception.
