OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A 12-year-old was left with minor injuries following a Marion County School Bus crash on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the wreck occurred at the intersection of SW 60th Ave. and State Road 200.
FHP says a Sedan driven by a 56-year-old female carried three passengers: a 12-year-old female, an 18-year-old female, and a 17-year-old male.
According to FHP, the sedan was stopped in the right turn lane of SW 60th Ave. at the intersection of State Road 200.
At the same time, a school bus carrying 26 students on board traveled in the same lane behind the sedan.
According to FHP, the 65-year-old male school bus driver failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the sedan.
The 12-year-old female passenger was minorly injured as a result of the crash. FHP reports the other three people in the sedan, as well as the 26 students on board the bus and their driver, escaped with no injuries.
FHP is currently investigating the crash. Updates will follow.
