OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A Silver Springs three-year-old was killed by a pickup truck reversing out of a driveway on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
According to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just shy of 4 p.m. on Sunday and is still under investigation. The little girl was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue.
This is the second time in two months that a Marion County toddler has been struck and killed by a vehicle backing out of a driveway.
On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, a two-year-old was struck and killed by an SUV while playing in a driveway at a home east of Silver Springs. The driver, a family friend, was also backing out of the driveway.
