OCALA, FL (352today.com) – UPDATED: All lanes are now open.

ORIGINAL: Multiple lanes remain closed after a semi-truck flipped off an Interstate 75 overpass Monday night and crashed onto the road below.

According to the Ocala Police Department (OPD), the truck was traveling south on I-75 carrying over 21 tons of sulfur fertilizer.

The semi-truck and a passenger vehicle collided around 11:15 p.m. causing the truck cab to separate from the trailer. The trailer flipped over the guardrail onto the southbound lanes of Blitchton Road which is also known as state highway 27, according to a post on the police department’s Facebook page.

According to OPD, all eastbound lanes are being detoured unto I-75 South. Exit 354 from the interstate is also closed as crews work to clean up the wreckage and the hazardous material dumped from the trailer.  A check of Waze traffic app at noon indicated the area remained blocked off and traffic impacted on the roads around the crash site.
