OCALA, FL (352today.com) – National Public Lands Day is a single-day volunteer effort where anyone can come together to help take care of public lands on Sept. 26 every year. Silver Springs State Park invites everyone to join the initiative to keep Silver Springs flourishing on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Silver Springs State Park Ranger Station, 1425 NE 58th Ave, Ocala.
Participants will have the opportunity to plant native species of plants or perform trail maintenance throughout the park. The agenda for the day will begin with introductions, a briefing with goals, a volunteer form for participants and preparations for the morning. Groups will proceed to break out into designated project areas to begin planting and trail maintenance.
Volunteers are recommended to arrive prior to 9 a.m. to ensure enough time for registrations. Participants are recommended to bring gloves, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and water for safety and comfortability while working on the trails.
