DUNNELLON, FL (352today.com) — The McDonald’s restaurant on N. Williams Street in Dunnellon was evacuated early Friday morning after smoke alarms alerted employees to a potential fire.

Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) units were dispatched to the restaurant, located at 11232 N. Williams Street, at 6:49 a.m. following a 911 call reporting smoke filling the building. Employees and customers safely evacuated the building before firefighters arrived.

Firefighters from MCFR Dunnellon Fire Station #3 reached the scene at 6:52 a.m. and discovered smoke throughout the structure. Additional crews were dispatched to assist with the investigation. “The source of the smoke turned out to be the HVAC ducts,” said MCFR Public Safety Information Manager James Banta.

No injuries were reported, and firefighters worked to ensure the building was safe before clearing the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
