OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Instead of fishing, sunbathing and playing in the surf this Labor Day weekend, thousands of Floridians will spend the weekend (and well beyond) cleaning up after Hurricane Idalia.
Making matters worse… it’ll be hot, rainy or both for most storm victims.
From Homosassa to Horseshoe Beach, the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast calls for temperatures in the 90s with the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms for the long, holiday weekend.
Here’s a look at the NWS forecast for Cedar Key through Monday:
Saturday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 102. East northeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. East northeast wind 3 to 7 mph.
Sunday: Isolated showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Sunny, with a high near 92. East northeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. East wind around 7 mph.
Labor Day: Sunny, with a high near 92. East wind around 8 mph.
Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind 8 to 10 mph.
