SUMTER COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Sumter County is reinstating its Veterans Memorial Brick program which will pave the way for a Veterans Day ceremony in 2024.
The county says memorial bricks can be purchased to commemorate U.S. veterans past or present.
“The Veterans Service Office is excited to assist in re-initiating the Sumter County Memorial Brick Program providing individuals the opportunity to purchase and dedicate a military brick as a means to honor or remember our service men and women,” said Kristen Montejo, Veterans Service manager.
The bricks will be engraved and placed at the memorial park which is located at the Sumter County Courthouse at 215 E. McCollum Ave.
The county’s website says the park pays “tribute to the men and women who have served our country and provided us with the most precious gift of all, our freedom.”
The cost for each brick is $50. The deadline to order is June 30, 2024. Place your order online here.
