OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Music lovers gathered on a chilly evening for the latest installment of the Sunset Songs Series, a free concert series on the downtown square that showcases top local and regional talent.

This month’s performers, Noah Hunton and Bryce Mauldin, delivered high-energy sets that warmed the crowd despite the brisk weather.

The Sunset Songs Series runs from September through May, inviting audiences to enjoy funk, blues, reggae, and country music under the setting sun. The event provides a midweek escape with music, food from local restaurants, and a community vibe. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to kick back and soak in the sounds.

Opening act Noah Hunton captivated the audience Wednesday night with his dynamic stage presence and heartfelt storytelling, despite the chill in the air. Hunton shared personal anecdotes, including a touching moment when he brought his mother on stage to sing “Happy Birthday” to her. He also performed his new song, “You and I,” dedicated to his fiancée.

Hunton told the crowd how grateful he was to share his music with his hometown, expressing his appreciation for winning Rock the Country’s Hometown Hero contest.

The Ocala Recreation and Parks team distributed pocket hand warmers and placed heaters throughout the crowd. Despite the cold, the event saw a strong turnout.

Hunton’s next performance is scheduled for February 8th at Vivid Music Hall in Downtown Gainesville, but fans can catch more Sunset Songs next month as the series continues with local artist Madwoman on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 6-8 p.m.
