ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Humane Society of North Central Florida in Gainesville is putting the “fun” back in fundraiser with its potentially hilarious donor campaign called “Poorly Drawn Pets.”
It’s exactly what it sounds like: You send $35 and a photo of your pet, and they send back a drawing of said pet, along with the satisfaction of knowing you’ve helped an eminently worthy cause.
Here’s how it works:
- Donate $35 using this order form
- Email a digital photo of your pet, along with their name and whatever other information you think is pertinent, to interns@humanesocietyncfl.org
That’s it! There’s more information here, but you get the gist. HSNCFL has “a team of staff and volunteers ready to create hilariously charming portraits of your pets,” so, you know, you’re probably not getting a Picasso out of this whole deal.
What you are getting, is a “questionably beautiful” digital portrait of your pet (yes, it’s coming over the internets, you’ll have to print your own physical copy), a killer conversation piece, and the sense of community that always comes with philanthropy–especially animal-related philanthropy, for some of us.
(I haven’t decided which of our animals is gonna get done, but I’ll share the result on 352Today’s socials for sure.)
The Poorly Drawn Pets Fun’raiser runs through July 22, 2026, so get to scrolling through your (probably) innumerable photos of your dogs, cats, horses, bearded dragons, cockatiels, water monitors or whatever.
