GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – This weekend’s Hoggetowne Medieval Faire is a rain or shine event. Over the festival’s 37 years, there have been times where it’s been a muddy mess.
That won’t be the case for Gainesville’s annual trip back in time to the Middle Ages. With the event moving downtown to Depot Park for this year, even if it does rain a bit, the park’s grounds should keep the sword fight from becoming mud wrestling.

There is a chance of rain on Sunday but not enough of a threat to keep medieval lords and ladies away from the festival which is shortened to only one weekend this year. If anything, it may be a little warm for the customary capes associated with the King’s court.
