The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a passenger vehicle hydroplaned from one side of the interstate, hit the center median guardrail and then slid back across all lanes of traffic to the shoulder.

Troopers says when the driver of an 18-wheeler saw what was happening, he moved left from the right lane which caused a series of collisions between the three tractor trailers.

The accident shutdown the interstate for at least three hours. FHP says all lanes were cleared and reopened around 2:30 p.m.
