OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A three-vehicle collision that included a school bus, led to an 86-year-old woman being trauma alerted, with another person being taken to the hospital for evaluation on, Sept. 23, 2025.
A minivan, SUV and school bus were involved in the collision. Five people sustained minor injuries including the one that was taken to the hospital to be evaluated. The driver and passenger in the school bus were uninjured.
The incident occurred on SR 40 near the 4100 block of West Highway 40, in front of the Red Roof Inn.
The one vehicle was traveling eastbound on SR 40 west of NW 40th Ave. in the continuous left turn lane. Another vehicle was traveling westbound on SR 40 east of NW 40th, while vehicle 3, the school bus, was traveling south on NW 40th and was stopped at the intersection of SR 40.
The vehicle that was traveling eastbound made a turn directly into the path of the vehicle traveling westbound, colliding with the left side of the vehicle traveling westbound, who was then spun around, with the vehicle colliding with the front of the school bus, who was stopped at the intersection.
Several agencies responded to the scene of the incident, including Ocala Fire Rescue, Marion County Fire Rescue, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Road Rangers.
