LADY LAKE, FL (352today.com) – The Town of Lady Lake is actively helping residents recover from Hurricane Milton. Here are the key details about the recovery efforts and how residents can contribute.

How the Town of Lady Lake is Helping:
  • Reduced Permit Fees: Residential construction permits related to Hurricane Milton repairs will be processed at a reduced rate of $75 until Oct. 31.
  • Tree Removal Permits Waived: Permits for removing trees damaged by the storm are waived through Oct. 31. If the removal isn’t storm-related, permits and debris disposal are the homeowner’s responsibility.
  • Yard Waste Collection by WM: Normal yard waste, like grass clippings and leaves, will continue to be collected as long as it’s bagged, bundled, and under 40 pounds. Large pickups may require multiple collection cycles.
  • Storm Debris Collection: The town is working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, to clear storm debris. The deadline for curbside storm debris pickup is Oct. 20. After this, residents will need to handle debris disposal themselves.
What Residents Can Do:
  1. Properly Sort Debris:
    • Keep storm debris (large limbs, branches) separate from regular yard waste (twigs, leaves).
    • Avoid placing debris near storm drains.
    • Keep construction and household waste separate from yard debris and storm waste.
  2. Drop Off Debris at Lady Lake Convenience Center:
    • Open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1200 Jackson Street.
    • Yard waste must be in paper or biodegradable bags. No plastic bags allowed.
  3. Report Damages for FEMA:
    • Town residents with damage can email their address, type of damage, and estimated cost to hello@ladylake.org to assist with FEMA reporting.
