OCALA, FL. (352 Today) Drivers on northbound Interstate 75 in Ocala should prepare for delays next week as the Florida Department of Transportation begins overnight double lane closures from Sunday, Sept. 14, through Friday, Sept. 19.

Closures will occur nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. between County Road 462 and County Road 484 to allow crews to complete milling and paving operations. Work schedules may shift depending on weather or other unforeseen conditions, FDOT officials said.

This project is part of the Moving Florida Forward Infrastructure Initiative, which aims to alleviate congestion and improve traffic flow by adding auxiliary lanes from State Road 44 to State Road 200 in Marion and Sumter counties. These new lanes will connect on-ramps and off-ramps, giving drivers more room and time to safely merge.

Motorists should anticipate reduced speeds, posted detours, and possible delays throughout the construction window. Drivers are urged to remain alert, follow posted signage, and avoid distractions in the work zone.

FDOT encourages all drivers to plan ahead and allow extra travel time during these nighttime lane closures. As work progresses on I-75, updates will continue to be shared through official FDOT channels.
