MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is warning drivers there will be slowdowns on Interstate 75 Monday evening.
FDOT says traffic will back up along northbound (I-75) north of U.S. 27 and southbound I-75 north of County Road 318 in Marion County starting as early as 8 p.m. on Monday.
Transportation officials say traffic will be briefly slowed down to 20 mph in both directions by Florida Highway Patrol troopers to allow Duke Energy to remove a fiber optic cable.
Once work is completed, traffic will be released.
Troopers are expected to also briefly stop traffic for 5 to 10 minutes at the State Road 326 on ramp to northbound I-75 and the C.R. 318 on ramp to southbound I-75 while this work takes place.
Expect delays and plan accordingly. If you can’t afford the delay, take an alternate route.
