MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – UPDATE, 1:10 p.m.: The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a 49-year-old woman from Ocala died in the accident on Southeast Maricamp Road on Friday morning.
Troopers say the accident happened around 5:40 a.m. when a van driven by a 35-year-old man from Ocala hit the woman who was in the road at the time.
The driver of the van was not injured.

UPDATE, 8:14 a.m.: Marion County sources tell 352today Maricamp Road, which is also known as County Road (CR) 464, should be cleared around 8:30 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol says troopers are investigating a fatal accident on CR 464 near the intersection of Spring Lake Road. Troopers tell us a van was traveling south on CR 464 when it collided with a pedestrian who was in the roadway.
ORIGINAL, 7:54 a.m.: There are major delays on Maricamp Road in Marion County Friday morning.
A spokesperson for Marion County says all lanes are blocked due to an accident in Silver Springs Shores.
The Florida Highway Patrol along with Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies are on the scene to reroute traffic.
93.7 K-Country/352today’s Kathy Dugan is very familiar with that area and suggests alternate routes on Spring Lake Road to Silver Road to Pine Road (reverse going westbound), and Emerald Road to Spring Road to Bahia (reverse going westbound).
If possible, it’s best to avoid the area completely as the detours will be slow-going on the neighborhood roads.
