CITRUS COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) issued a warning to utility trailer owners in the area. Deputies have recently received several reports of trailer theft in the area.
One trailer (left) was reportedly stolen in the early morning of Aug. 9 near Beverly Hills, FL. The single-axle Triple Crown trailer is black and 18 feet long. It has metal ATV ramps and a Florida license plate: Z42JXA.
Earlier, another trailer (right) was stolen in the Citrus Springs area on Aug. 7. The 2021 Carry-On utility trailer is black, 6 feet wide and 12 feet long. It also has a Florida license plate: QZJQ09.
The description and location of the suspect(s) remain unknown.
CCSO advises local trailer owners to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of their trailers. Deputies recommend locking trailer tongues and chains, blocking access to all trailers or utilizing wheel locks. If planning to store the trailer for extended periods of time, it could even be helpful to temporarily remove a wheel or the trailer coupler.
