ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – UPDATE, 2:15 p.m.: Multiple emergency crews responded to a fire involving a vehicle hauler on Interstate 75 Wednesday morning.
Law enforcement shut down the southbound lanes of the interstate around mile marker 397 in Alachua County between Gainesville and Alachua around 11 a.m. so crews could battle the blaze.
As of 12:12 p.m., the Alachua Police Department reported two lanes had been re-opened but advised motorists to still expect heavy delays.
Crews from the High Springs Fire and Alachua County Fire Rescue Departments worked together to put the fire out within about 30 minutes.
As of 2:15 p.m., a check of FL511, the state’s traffic cameras, shows traffic backed up in the area.
