LAKE COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) needs your help tracking down the driver who hit a cyclist and didn’t stop, leaving the cyclist critically injured.
Troopers say the hit-and-run crash happened at Wolf Branch Road and Stone Meadow Court in Lake County on Wednesday, July 26, at 5:45 a.m.

FHP says the 59-year-old bicyclist was transported to Lake Monroe Hospital in critical condition.
What happened:
Troopers say the bicyclist was riding eastbound on Wolf Branch Road along the edge of the roadway approaching Stone Meadow Court. They say he was wearing a reflective vest, and his bike was equipped with appropriate lighting to include a flashing indicator.
FHP says the driver of the vehicle was traveling the same direction on Wolf Branch Road. They say the driver failed to slow for the bicyclist and the two collided. They say the driver didn’t stop, continuing eastbound on Wolf Branch Road.
Key piece of evidence:
Investigators have a key piece of evidence. They recovered a piece of a front headlight assembly, possibly from a white vehicle consistent with a Kia Soul between model year 2014 to 2018. The vehicle should have damage to the front right side.
