MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a 62-year-old woman walking along SE 47th Avenue died when she was hit by a pickup truck.
Troopers say the accident happened around 6 p.m. on SE 47th Avenue just south of the SE 138th Street intersection.
FHP says the woman was walking facing traffic when she was hit by a truck being driven by a 73-year-0ld man from Belleview.
“The weather was cloudy, it was dark outside and the roadway was not illuminated,” said FHP in a release.
The woman died at the scene. Troopers say she was from Summerfield.
