THE VILLAGES, FL (352today.com) – For the second time in just over a week, residents of The Villages gathered roadside on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, to express their opposition to the policies and practices of President Donald J. Trump and his administration.

The demonstrations were timed to coincide with the first anniversary of President Trump’s second inauguration, his two terms in the White House having been split by former President Joe Biden’s single term in office.

Dual protests organized by The Villages Democratic Club coalesced at 10 a.m. at two locations in The Villages.

The smaller of the two rallies took place near the southern edge of the famed community, at the corner of Warm Springs Boulevard and Marsh Bend Trail, where approximately 100 people came together to express their discontent. A few Wildwood Police Department officers looked on as protestors chatted, took photos and waved signs, inciting honks and hollers from passing motorists, both in support and opposition.

Meanwhile, further north, at a familiar spot along Morse Boulevard just outside Lake Sumter Landing, nearly 1,000 demonstrators were in attendance–many more than presented for the rally, itself impressive, that occurred in the same location just eight days ago, on Jan. 12, protesting the death of Renee Good at the hands of an agent of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis on Jan. 7. The signs and golf carts ran perhaps a quarter of a mile along the thoroughfare between roundabouts, with participants taking to both sides of the street.

A few bellowed comments and middle fingers from traffic aside, both protests came off peacefully.
