OCALA, FL (352today.com) – HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital received national accolades for commitment to making sure stroke patients receive the best, latest available and the most appropriate treatment.
The two hospitals received the distinction from the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association.
HCA Florida Ocala was recognized for meeting specific criteria that reduce the time between a patient’s arrival and treatment to remove the blood clot causing a stroke. Research has proven that early stroke detection and treatment are keys to improving survival, minimizing disability and accelerating recovery times.
HCA West Marion Hospital was also similarly honored.
The awards recognize hospitals that demonstrate at least 85% compliance in each of the seven Get With The Guidelines®– Stroke Achievement Measures. HCA Florida says the hospitals are the only healthcare providers in Ocala to be honored for 10 or more consecutive calendar years for meeting this standard of excellence.
