OCALA, FL (354today.com) – The U.S. Forest Service announced that the Navy will be conducting “inert bombing” training exercises at the Pinecastle Range Complex, on the Ocala National Forest, from Monday, Oct. 6 through Thursday, Oct. 9.
Inert bombing training exercises involve “bombs” that closely replicate the experience of working with live ordnance but contain no explosive material.
The bombing range’s safety perimeter has already been activated. While there is no direct inherent danger to the community from the exercises, the Forest Service reports that some wildlife may be temporarily displaced from the Pinecastle area. Nearby residents are advised to secure any items that might attract animals, and practice “BearWise” measures.
