OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Americans for Prosperity-Florida hosted U.S. Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) at GoldMark Farm on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, where the congresswoman talked about the REINS, Regulations from the Executive In Need of Scrutiny, Act, which concerns the need for greater government accountability.

Rep. Cammack introduced the bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, House Resolution 3058, to amend chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, to provide for additional congressional review of agency rulemaking, and for other purposes, on April 29, 2025, during the 119th U.S. Congress’s first session. Dr. Rand Paul, U.S. Senator (R-KY) introduced the bill in February 2025 in the U.S. Senate; U.S. Sen Rick Scott (R-FL) is one of the bill’s cosponsors in the U.S. Senate.

Cammack discussed the bill and conducted a question-and-answer session, where her constituents were able to learn more about the REINS Act, and how the legislation would restore balance, ensuring that representatives elected by the people will have the final say on federal rules that impact American families and businesses.

According to Rep. Cammack, the REINS Act would return legislative power to Congress, check federal overreach, and ensure Americans have the tools necessary to defend their rights.

“The 352 every single year pays $15,000 on average in just regulatory enforcement in compliance, families by and large don’t have $15,000 to spare, so if we were actually to pass the REINS Act, return power back to the people, empower the people, not only would they have a greater say in the country, in the laws that govern every day existence, they would have more money in their pocket,” said Cammack. “So, the REINS Act is a win-win, it’s bipartisan, it’s a way to restore what the Founding Fathers had intended from the word get-go. We are very enthusiastic and optimistic about passage of the bill because we’ve identified multiple ways to get in through the process.”
