GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Florida men’s basketball head coach Todd Golden faces allegations of sexual harassment and stalking by multiple women, according to Title IX documents obtained by The Independent Florida Alligator.
The University of Florida received a formal Title IX complaint against Golden on Sept. 27, alleging behavior that may violate the UF Gender Equity Policy, reports The Alligator. According to the complaint, Golden reportedly engaged in online stalking behaviors, such as liking women’s Instagram photos, sending direct messages in “vanish mode,” and then unliking the photos to avoid detection.
The Alligator reported accounts from two anonymous former UF students, who shared similar experiences of Golden’s alleged conduct. One of the women stated that Golden stalked her in person over ten times and sent unsolicited explicit photos. She described the experience as a “grooming process,” beginning with subtle interactions that escalated.
The Alligator says that a UF spokesperson said the university cannot comment on or confirm Title IX inquiries or investigations, in compliance with federal law. They say the allegations against Golden include sexual exploitation, harassment, and stalking, with claims of him targeting UF students over an extended period.
