MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – At 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, an unidentified pedestrian was walking south on County Road 464 (Maricamp Road, east of Spring Lake Road) in Marion County when he was hit by a car and then hit by a second vehicle which kept driving without stopping.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says the pedestrian was first hit by the right side of the first car. The car stopped partially on the south shoulder of CR 464 and partially in the right eastbound lane facing west. The pedestrian stopped in the left lane facing south.

According to an incident report, a second vehicle was traveling west in the same lane as the pedestrian. The vehicle hit him and continued driving.

The second offending vehicle is unidentified, but a report says it may be a dark-colored vehicle. The make and model are not known.

The pedestrian is unidentified, but the incident report from FHP says he was critically injured. He is described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s. He is said to be 5’11” or taller with short black hair. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the crash.

The crash investigator, FHP Trooper Shuman of the Ocala district, is asking anyone with information from the crash to contact FHP.
