About the Comprehensive Plan update
Citrus County is looking to the future and inviting residents to share ideas that will help shape goals for the next generation of community members and businesses. Public input will be incorporated into an updated Comprehensive Plan that outlines a vision for Citrus County through 2050. The plan will guide land use, infrastructure, development and resource protection.
The current Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 1990. The update is intended to reflect community priorities related to land use, housing, transportation, conservation, coastal management, parks, open space and more. The goal is to preserve Citrus County’s unique character and quality of life.
Residents can learn more about the Comprehensive Plan update and how to share their ideas at bit.ly/plancitrus.
