OCALA, FL (352today.com) – When it comes to Halloween, who can resist pint-sized princesses and scaled-down superheroes? The toothy grins and sometimes meek plea of “trick or treat” can’t help but put a smile on even the grouchiest adult face.

All of that was in abundance Tuesday night at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place in Ocala for the city’s 2023 Boo Bash.

Proverbial ‘bad guys’ didn’t stand a chance here considering Spiderman, Batman, Captain America and other caped crusaders were all in attendance; along with members of the Ocala Police Department (OPD).

OPD officers doled out candy to every Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and masked monster who showed up.

The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department hosts the free Halloween event to provide a safe, controlled environment for parents to bring their kids and leave with pails filled with candy.

The city also provided activities like games of chance and cornhole to keep everyone entertained as they burned off energy from the sugar rush.
