MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is looking for Keith Allen Pond on warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery, alleging he attacked an elderly couple in August.

MCSO reports that Pond, who is currently on felony probation, confronted an older couple while they were filming a rainbow. Witnesses say Pond was standing on his RV’s roof, yelling and cursing at the victims.

According to the sheriff’s office, when the husband turned to face Pond, the suspect threw a hammer at him. Pond then descended from the RV and attempted to punch the husband. When the wife intervened, Pond allegedly grabbed her arm and then slapped her across the face.

Pond is wanted in connection with the incident, which happened while he was on probation following a 2022 conviction for battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

MCSO is asking anyone with information about Pond’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-STOP, referencing case 24-42. Callers can remain anonymous.

Those with information are urged to contact authorities immediately and not attempt to approach Pond, whom officials describe as potentially violent.
