OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The storm system that is headed toward North Central Florida has produced damage in other parts of the nation.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says as a cold front comes through it will bring the potential for severe weather. The NWS says a “squall line of strong to severe storms will cross our region from the pre-dawn through the early afternoon hours on Wednesday. All modes of severe weather will be possible, including damaging wind gusts, hail, and isolated tornadoes.”

The NWS says wind gusts could be as high as 40 mph in the 352.

Behind the storm front will be windy conditions and cooler temperatures.

Ocala Forecast

Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with hail, damaging winds, and gusty winds. High near 79. Very windy, with a southwest wind 16 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Wednesday Night: A 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 55. West wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
