OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Though Halloween isn’t until Thursday, the festivities in North Central Florida have been well underway. This weekend is no different.
It’s time to put the finishing touches on those costumes and steal an early piece of candy- we’re celebrating Halloween all weekend long.
World Equestrian Halloween Celebration: Join this free spooktacular event at the World Equestrian Center Grand Plaza on Sunday, October 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. Enjoy trick-or-treating, cookie and pumpkin decorating, and more. The World Equestrian Center is located at 1750 NW 80th Avenue in Ocala.
After Dark in the Park Movie Series: Enjoy a classic monster movie for free on Friday, October 25 at 7 p.m. at Fort King National Historic Landmark. Bring a blanket or chairs and get cozy for Creature from the Black Lagoon, parts of which were filmed at our very own Silver Springs! Concessions will be available for purchase. Fort King is located 3925 E Fort King Street in Ocala.
Lake Lillian Trunk or Treat: Get your costumes ready for trick-or-treating at Lake Lillian with free candy, hayrides, music, and food trucks. There will also be a haunted house and zombie maze for $3 per person. Trunk or treat is on Saturday, October 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. on Robinson Road in Belleview.
Ocala Arts Festival: Fine Arts for Ocala is back with their annual showcase on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27. Explore artwork from over 155 artists from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The festival is free to attend and is spread throughout downtown Ocala, starting at 1 NE 1st Avenue.
Micanopy Fall Festival: Dubbed “the town that time forgot,” Micanopy hosts the 49th edition of this festival on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27. Over 200 artists, crafters, and musicians from around the southeast will be on display starting at 9 a.m. each day. The festival is free to attend and is located off Highway 441 in Micanopy. Various parking addresses are listed on the festival’s website.
Florida Bat Festival: This family-friendly fall festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will have activities, shopping, food trucks, a beer garden, and world’s largest bats, of course. Admission is $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 5-12, and free under 4. Beer garden tickets are $40 for ages 21+. The festival is at the Lubee Bat Conservatory, located at 1309 NW 192nd Avenue in Gainesville.
