FAFO’s Symphony Under the Stars: Pack a picnic and bring mom out to enjoy live classical music under the stars on Sunday, May 12. Join the Ocala Symphony Orchestra at Ocala Golf Club, located at 3130 East Silver Springs Boulevard. The gates will open at 3 p.m. and the symphony will begin at 7. The night will end with fireworks. There will also be food trucks on site, and you can rent chairs or bring your own. The event is free for kids 17 and under. For those over 18, tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate.
Mother’s Day 5k at Citizens’ Circle: Are you and mom a sporty pair? Challenge her to the Annual Mother’s Day 5k on Saturday, May 11. Racers will take off from Citizens’ Circle in Ocala at 8 a.m. and registration is $45. Registration includes a shirt and a flower for mom, and a celebration will follow after the race.
Ocala Downtown Market Mother’s Day Spring Market: Treat mom to a special evening out shopping from local vendors and enjoying gourmet treats. Build a bouquet from the flower bar or capture memories with mom at the photo booth on Sunday, May 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. This market is FREE and will be set up under the Ocala Downtown Market pavilion at 403 SE Osceola Avenue.
Cannon Farms Mother’s Day on the Farm: Spend a beautiful weekend out with your loved ones at Cannon Farms in Dunnellon. Your family can enjoy flower picking, hayrides, a petting zoo, food trucks, vendors and more on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12. The farm opens at 10 a.m. and admission starts at $5.
Picasso’s Palette Mother’s Day Sweet Tea and Strawberries: If you got your artistic side from your mother, then Picasso’s Palette is the perfect place to take her on Sunday, May 12. Tickets are $10 for an afternoon of creativity and sweet treats. The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., but you can stop by all weekend to create something. Mom will appreciate a “World’s Best Mom” mug regardless of how old her kids are.
