Critter Meet and Greet at the Discovery Center: Get up close and personal with the resident critters at the Discovery Center, located at 701 NE Sanchez Ave. in Ocala, on Friday, August 9 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. After learning about the animals and meeting the crew, check out the center’s other exhibits, including the seasonal Attack of the Bloodsuckers. Admission to the Discovery Center is $8, and the meet and greet is no extra cost.
Kayak Adventures with Marion County Parks and Rec: Enjoy a guided kayak adventure through nature’s playground on Saturday, August 10. Staff will meet voyagers at 9 a.m. at the Brick City Adventure Park, located at 1211 SE 22nd Rd. in Ocala. The adventure is $40/participant, and all equipment is included. Sunscreen, a hat, towel, change of clothes, and snacks are recommended to bring. This activity is for ages 8 and up.
Spy Science at Discovery Center: Learn how to be a spy and sleuth around the Discovery Center on Saturday, August 10 from 12:30 to 1 p.m. This program is a $3 add-on to the $8 admission. The Discovery Center’s address is 701 NE Sanchez Ave. in Ocala.
Ocala Kidz Fest: This event of non-stop family fun is taking place Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11 in Expo 2 at the World Equestrian Center. You can look forward to animal interactions, character meet and greets, bounce houses, crafts and entertainment, giveaways, and more. The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Admission each day is $8 in advance, and $12 at the door.
