This year’s storm names include Andrea, Barry, Chantal, Dexter, Erin, Fernand, Gabrielle, Humberto, Imelda, Jerry, Karen, Lorenzo, Melissa, Nestor, Olga, Pablo, Rebekah, Sebastien, Tanya, Van, and Wendy.

The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs from June 1 through November 30, with early forecasts predicting near-average activity. Residents are encouraged to stay informed and prepare as the season approaches.

Meanwhile, Ocala is experiencing an early taste of spring this weekend. Expect warm, pleasant weather for Friday night’s First Friday Art Walk and Saturday’s The Big Cheese. However, a shift is coming, with rain expected to move in on Sunday.
