WILDWOOD, FL (352today.com) – Wildwood’s city commission has selected Marcos Flores to serve as mayor pro tem, filling a vacancy created by the recent retirement of Pamala Harrison-Bivins. The vote occurred at a regularly scheduled meeting the night of Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, following adoption of procedures to fill the vacancy.

Per the city’s charter, the mayor pro tem has all the powers and duties of the mayor in the mayor’s absence or inability to act.

“I am honored to be chosen by my fellow commissioners to serve in this role,” said Flores, who has served on the commission since 2019. “Pam’s 25 years of experience will be impossible to replace, but I am fortunate to have had a front-row seat to learn from the best, and I am ready to take the reins.”

Flores will serve as mayor pro tem for the remainder of 2026. A new selection will occur in January 2027, following the next regular municipal election on Nov. 3.

Dave Fountaine, appointed last month to fill Seat 2 on the commission, was sworn in by Judge Paul L. Militello at the beginning of the meeting.
