WILDWOOD, FL (352today.com) – Wildwood’s city commission voted at a special-called meeting the morning of Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, to appoint David Fountaine to fill Seat 2, recently vacated when Pamala Harrison-Bivins retired.
Eight applicants were in attendance and were interviewed by the commission. The first round of commission voting resulted in a 2-1-1 split. In the second round of voting, a 3-1 majority was reached and per the city’s charter and procedural resolution, the appointee was determined.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to serve the community in this capacity and am eager to get to work,” said Fountaine. “Wildwood has done an excellent job managing its explosive growth thus far, and I am proud to join a leadership team that always puts its residents’ well-being first.”
Fountaine is a retired U.S. Army officer with 23 years of military service, holds a Ph.D. in education with a specialization in training and performance improvement, and earned a master’s degree in human resource management. He served as village administrator in Hamburg, NY, a community with a population of 10,000 residents, and has served in a variety of roles for numerous organizations.
Mayor Ed Wolf welcomed Fountaine to the commission and expressed confidence in his ability to hit the ground running.
“We received some top-notch resumes and were faced with a very tough decision,” Wolf said. “Dave brings extensive experience and an impressive track record of public service. I know he is going to fit right in and be a valuable member of our team.”
Fountaine will be sworn in at the commission’s first meeting of 2026, scheduled for Monday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m., and will serve the remainder of the Seat 2 term, which expires at the end of next year. The position will be filled by general election at that time.
