WILDWOOD, FL (352today.com) – Wildwood City Manager Jason McHugh has received the resignation of Mayor Pro Tem Pamala Harrison-Bivins, effective Nov. 16, 2025.
“While I am saddened that Mayor Pro Tem Bivins decided to leave the city commission, I well know her commitment to this community and fully anticipate she will continue serving Wildwood’s residents in other ways,” McHugh said in an announcement. “She leaves a legacy that will be difficult to replicate–and shoes that will be very hard to fill.”
First elected in 2000, Harrison-Bivins was the commission’s second-longest-serving member. The Florida League of Cities recognized her with a Mayor John Land 25 Years of Service Award earlier this year.
Wildwood’s city charter requires the vacated seat to be filled by commission appointment until the next regularly scheduled election. At that time, the seat will be declared open and filled by voters for a regular four-year term.
“The appointment must be made within 30 days,” McHugh said. “We are establishing dates for nominations and commission voting, ensuring we maintain the utmost transparency. Ultimately, it is up to the remaining commission members to determine the appointee, but I will do everything in my powers to facilitate a smooth, seamless process and transition.”
