LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – During the early morning hours on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call from a frantic woman. This woman stated she awoke to find an unknown person standing over her holding a knife while she slept. She told the 911 operators she began screaming and the suspect ran out of her home.
Deputy Kaleigh Richetti and Field Training Deputy Burt Miller arrived within minutes and interviewed the victim. She told deputies that she was abruptly awaken by a stocky male figure who was wearing a mask and hoodie standing inside her bedroom holding what appeared to be a knife. The victim said when she attempted to say something to the intruder he made a gesture with his finger over his mouth while making the sound “Shhhhh.”
The victim immediately screamed. The intruder then grabbed the victim and covered her mouth in an attempt to restrain and silence her. She then began fighting back. This is when the intruder released his grip, turned, and as he fled the residence through a screen door, the victim saw him pick up an item from inside her home.
The Deputies investigation discovered the victim had a surveillance doorbell camera which had been covered by clothing in a deliberate manner. Despite these efforts, Deputies recovered still images of the intruder. The intruder’s image clearly shows his face and him wearing a sweatshirt with the printed words, “YOU’RE KILLING ME SMALLS” on the front. Deputies were able to quickly identify the intruder as a Williston juvenile known to them as he is frequently reported as a runaway.
While on scene, Deputies also found evidence the victim’s vehicle had been broken into. More clothing was located inside her car that did not belong to her.
Deputies responded to the juvenile’s family residence and located him still wearing the “YOU’RE KILLING ME SMALLS” sweatshirt. He was immediately arrested and has been charged with Home Invasion with a Deadly Weapon, Burglary with Battery, Armed Burglary to a Conveyance, False Imprisonment, and Tampering with Evidence. The juvenile was transported to the Levy County Detention Center where he was transferred to the Department of Juvenile Justice where he will remain in custody with no bond.
