WILLISTON, FL (352today.com) – A Williston Middle/High School teacher was arrested after investigators say he had an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to a report from the Levy County Sheriff’s Office.
Nicholas Sapp, 38, of Ocala, was taken into custody by sheriff’s detectives following a report from a witness who learned of the relationship and alerted a parent, authorities said. Detectives launched an investigation, located the victim and conducted interviews. Evidence confirming the relationship was also collected.
Sapp has been charged under Florida Statute 800.101, which covers offenses against students by authority figures. He was booked into the Levy County Detention Center, where bond will be set at his first appearance the morning of Apr. 24.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains active but there is no indication of additional victims at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Ryan Sullivan at 352-486-5111, ext. 360.
Sapp has been placed on administrative leave without pay, and the Levy County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Levy County School Board as the case continues.
