CITRUS COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, along with state and local partners, is closely monitoring the rising water levels of the Withlacoochee River and its connected bodies of water. Due to safety concerns, portions of the river have been closed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). As water levels continue to rise, several roadways are already flooding and may soon close.

A curfew is in effect from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for the following areas:

  • North of C-39 from Highway 200 to Highway 41
  • East of Highway 200 from the Marion County line south to Posselt Drive
  • East of N. Nature Trail

Local authorities urge residents to avoid these areas unless they live there, and violators will face enforcement actions.

  • E Riverside Dr. (off C-39)
Closed County Boat Ramps:
  • Goldendale Ave, Dunnellon
  • Spruce Dr, Dunnellon
  • Trail’s End, Floral City
  • Withlapopka, Floral City
  • Turner Camp Road, Inverness
